Judson’s Athletic Department is thrilled to announce the hiring of Chicago Bandits star outfielder and veteran coach Sammy Marshall as Judson's Head Softball Coach. Marshall was the 18th overall selection in the 2015 National Professional Fastpitch (NPF) Draft by the Bandits out of Western Illinois University. She is known on the playing field for her speed and defense, as she has been a key contributor at the top of the Bandits lineup. The two-time Cowles Cup Champion played a significant role during the 2016 season, where she led the NPF with 16 stolen bases in 18 attempts. This past summer, Marshall had career highs in batting average (.388), RBI (11), and home runs (5). Defensively, Marshall has appeared on ESPN’s Top-10 plays of the day with outstanding glove work in center field. 

During recent Bandits off-seasons, Marshall was a graduate assistant at St. Leo University (Fla.). In 2016, she was the head coach at Wheaton Academy High School, where she led the program to nine victories. Marshall is finishing her Master’s degree in Business Administration: Sports Business in the spring of 2019 from St. Leo. Her Bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois was in Exercise Science.
